Sarah Wu

Sarah joined the coaching staff at Boulder CrossFit during the summer of 2009 after receiving her Level 1 CrossFit Certification.  Sarah started training at Boulder CrossFit in 2007 with Eric Wu, her husband and fellow trainer.

Sarah's athletic background includes performing as a member of the University of Colorado dance/cheerleading squad, competitive figure skating, and numerous years playing soccer.  Like many women, Sarah was initially skeptical about CrossFit.  Would she still need to get her cardio in?  Or, would she get too bulky from the weight training?  CrossFit banished these traditional misconceptions about fitness and weight training.  Her training worked into a busy career,  helped her reach her target bodyweight, and gave her strength she never knew she could have.

Sarah is a practiced Zone Diet expert with 6 years of experience, giving her unique insight and passion in helping atheletes meet their performance, health, and weight-loss goals.

Jeff Sadler

In 2004 Jeff Sadler was racing the Elk Mountain Traverse with a teammate.  He met a friend who was also doing the race, but all of his training was from the Crossfit website.  Jeff and his partner were not only beaten, but their time was cut in half by the other team.  It was time to start looking at this Crossfit.

After trying Crossfit a few times a month and completing an ironman triathlon, Jeff's wife gave birth to their son.  Gone were the days of 6 hour bikerides and hours in the pool, but 20 minutes in the garage seemed reasonable to both.  Jeff got serious and consistant about Crossfit.

In May of 2007, Jeff opened the doors of Boulder Crossfit.  They started small on the loading dock of his "other" job, but by August had space of their own in the back of a church by Pearl Street Mall.  September 2008 found Boulder Crossfit moving to a new location on 28th St, doubling the usable square footage.

Jeff is Crossfit and Crossfit Endurance certified, as well as a Sports Performance Coach thru USAW, and a Kettlebell Lifting Coach thru the American Kettlebell Club.

Eric Wu

Eric discovered CrossFit in 2005, when he found himself with high blood pressure, soft muscles and excess body fat.  With no formal athletic background (skateboarding, hiking, an occasional set of biceps curls?), he started hitting the gym using Internet websites and a high school class in weight training as guides.  After making the usual beginner gains in strength and fitness, he found himself bored and stagnating.

While searching for workout ideas, he found a video of Greg Amundson and Josh Everett doing Fran (http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/Josh_Greg-Fran.wmv ) and couldn't believe the strength and fitness on display.  CrossFit's focus on maximizing power output and empirical evidence appealed directly to his training as an engineer (and general geekiness), and soon he was incorporating CrossFit workouts into his fitness regimen and making big gains again.

In November 2005 he became a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer and then focused on learning and training the Olympic lifts, culminating in his certification as a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach in the fall of 2006.  Eric was one of the initial members of Boulder CrossFit, and started leading classes in early 2008.
